طب نقل الدم هو الاختصاص الذي يعنى بجمع الدم ومكوناته وتحليله وتخزينه ونقله إلى المريض بأمان. يشمل عمل المخبر فيه تحديد زمرة ABO والعامل الريصي RhD، وتحري الأضداد، واختبار التوافق قبل النقل، وتحري المتبرعين عن فيروسات مثل HIV والتهاب الكبد B وC.
Definition
Transfusion medicine is the specialty concerned with collecting, testing, storing and safely transfusing blood and its components. The laboratory side covers ABO and RhD grouping, antibody screening, compatibility testing before transfusion, and screening donors for infections such as HIV and hepatitis B and C.
