البلوغ المبكر ظهور علامات البلوغ قبل سن 8 سنوات عند البنات أو 9 سنوات عند الأولاد. يقيس المخبر الهرمون الملوتن LH والهرمون المنبه للجريب FSH والإستراديول أو التستوستيرون، وقد يُجرى اختبار التحريض بـ GnRH للتمييز بين المنشأ المركزي والمحيطي، ويحتاج الأطفال إلى مقايسات ذات حساسية عالية عند القيم المنخفضة.
Definition
Precocious puberty is the onset of pubertal signs before age 8 in girls or 9 in boys. The laboratory measures luteinising hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and oestradiol or testosterone, and a GnRH stimulation test may separate central from peripheral causes. Paediatric work needs assays with good sensitivity at low concentrations.
