التعريف
عدد الصفيحات في وحدة الحجم من الدم، ويُعبر عنه بوحدة 10^9 في اللتر. يحتاج التعداد المنخفض إلى تحقق قبل إصداره، لأن تكتل الصفيحات في EDTA، أو ما يسمى نقص الصفيحات الكاذب، أو تخثر العينة يعطي قيماً منخفضة كاذبة. تؤكد اللطاخة أو إعادة التحليل على أنبوب سترات التعداد الحقيقي.
Definition
The number of platelets per unit volume of blood, reported as 10^9 per liter. A low count needs checking before release, because platelet clumping in EDTA (pseudothrombocytopenia) or a clotted sample gives falsely low values. A smear, or a repeat on a citrate tube, confirms the true count.
