أدنى تركيز من المضاد الميكروبي يمنع النمو المرئي للجرثوم في ظروف الاختبار القياسية، ويُعبر عنه عادة بوحدة mg/L. تُقارن هذه القيمة بالحدود السريرية لتصنيف العزلة حساسة أو مقاومة.
Definition
The lowest concentration of an antimicrobial that prevents visible growth of an organism under standard test conditions, usually expressed in mg/L. The MIC is compared with clinical breakpoints to classify the isolate as susceptible or resistant.
