مجموعة تحاليل تشمل الكوليسترول الكلي والشحوم الثلاثية وكوليسترول HDL وكوليسترول LDL لتقدير الخطر القلبي الوعائي. يُحسب LDL غالباً بمعادلة فريدوالد التي لا تصح عندما تتجاوز الشحوم الثلاثية 400 ملغ/دل، وعندها يقاس LDL مباشرة. تُقبل العينات غير الصيامية لمعظم التحري، لكن الشحوم الثلاثية تكون أعلى بعد الطعام.
Definition
A panel of total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL cholesterol and LDL cholesterol used to assess cardiovascular risk. LDL is often calculated with the Friedewald equation, which is invalid when triglycerides exceed 400 mg/dL, and then LDL is measured directly. Non-fasting samples are acceptable for most screening, but triglycerides are higher after meals.
