نظام معلومات المختبر برنامج يدير طلبات التحاليل وتسجيل العينات والنتائج والتقارير وضبط الجودة والتتبع، ويربط الأجهزة ببعضها وبالطبيب. يُغني عن نسخ النتائج يدوياً من شاشة الجهاز، وهو مصدر شائع لأخطاء النقل، ويحفظ سجلاً لكل من أدخل أو عدّل نتيجة.
Definition
A laboratory information system is software that manages test orders, specimen registration, results, reports, quality control and traceability, linking instruments to each other and to the clinician. It removes the need to copy results by hand from the analyzer screen, a common source of transcription errors, and keeps a record of who entered or changed each result.
