نظام إدارة معلومات المختبر برنامج لإدارة العينات والتحاليل والبيانات، ويُستخدم المصطلح تقليدياً في مختبرات البحث والصناعة والأغذية حيث تتمحور العينات حول الدفعات لا حول المريض. في المختبرات الطبية يُستعمل الاسمان LIS وLIMS بالتبادل غالباً، والمهم أن يدعم النظام هوية المريض والتقارير السريرية.
Definition
A laboratory information management system is software for managing samples, tests and data, a term traditionally used in research, industrial and food laboratories where samples are organised by batch instead of by patient. In medical laboratories LIS and LIMS are often used interchangeably, and what matters is that the system handles patient identity and clinical reports.
