اختبار سريع تُمزج فيه مادة من المستعمرة مع بيروكسيد الهيدروجين، وظهور الفقاعات يدل على إنزيم الكاتالاز. يفرق العنقوديات (إيجابية) عن العقديات (سلبية)، وأخذ شيء من آغار الدم مع المستعمرة قد يعطي نتيجة إيجابية كاذبة.
Definition
A rapid test in which colony material is mixed with hydrogen peroxide, and bubbling shows the enzyme catalase. It separates staphylococci (positive) from streptococci (negative), and picking up blood agar along with the colony can give a false positive.
